Once you have got the idea of who you are selling to, you may choose one of the free traffic platforms that best fit your needs. But which free traffic platform should you consider. The most popular and widely used method is using Facebook fan pages. But I wouldn’t recommend that. The reason for that is: Facebook has already killed the organic reach of Facebook pages. Currently, it has shifted to pay as you go. You need to frequently pay them to boost your post.
So it’s not a viable option especially if you are looking for free traffic sources to drive free traffic. Therefore, I would recommend Facebook groups which is a much better option to drive free traffic to your Shopify store or eCommerce website. You may either create your own Facebook group or search for existing Buy-Sell groups or coupons and discount marketplaces on Facebook.
Once you find them, join the group and check to see if they allow promoting. If they do, you may start promoting your stuff. However, if they don’t, a better idea would be to contact the group admins and get their permission before you start promoting. Many of them would be happy to create a video and place your ad within their videos.
For example, suppose you sell beauty products on your eCommerce website. You can simply find some fashion or beauty bloggers with a small audience size. Find their contact details and contact them with an advertising inquiry. Give them away a free unit of your product in exchange for promotion. Although not all of them will accept your proposal yet many of them will do. Once they accept, they would mention in the video that this video is sponsored by XYZ eCommerce site.
